Something that left a mark on my life was my first vacation, which was a cruise to mexico. This was my first time ever being on a boat so I was pretty excited . The first thing my mom and I did when getting on the gigantic boat is go get something to eat . The food on the cruise was really good. Especially the pizza, the way the cheese melted in your mouth mmm. After eating the most amazing pizza I’ve ever had we went to see our rooms. The room wasn’t that big, but I didn’t let that crush my spirit just because it wasn’t the biggest room ever. After spending a couple of hours in the room we went swimming. As soon as we went outside we could smell the salt on the ocean and feel the breeze on our faces. It was probably one of the be sights I’ve ever seen, people tanning while the others are swimming. The only thing I didn’t like was that the water was salty. But other than that my first day on the cruise was pretty great. On the second day of the cruise we basically explored the entire ship. After exploring the whole ship we found out that there was a kids club, but it didn’t start till six or seven o’clock . At this kids club your parents dropped you off and you got to make new friends and do activities on the boat. At this “club” we had an ice-cream eating contest first. That was a terrible idea because I got the worst brain freeze ever. I know some brain freezes are bad, but I’m telling this was like total melt down bangging your head on the table brain freeze. So while I was having the worst brain freeze of my life everyone was just sitting there laughing at me because I was going crazy. But that was just only some of the craziness that went on during the night (it was only crazy at the time because I was nine). After about an hour of hanging out we started to play some games. Games like capture the flag, hide and seek,or a couple of board games. In addition to running around a giant cruise super late playing games and being loud we had a little dance. The dance was located in the adults club. The club looked like a scene out of a bad 80’s movie. There were neon lights everywhere, and these really tacky cheetah print couches. Not to mention the smell of cigarettes in the air. So basically they put a bunch of little kids in this bad smelling room with bad furniture and bad lighting . But overall it was a cool night and I didn’t have to go to sleep around three o’clock.(I thought I was so cool because I got to stay up super late) The next I didn’t wake up until one o’clock .the entire day we did nothing but play card games and draw pictures. That was probably the most boring day we had on the cruise. When we finally made it to Mexico we went sight seeing for about 2 hours. We didn’t get to see much because no one really knew where to go so we ended up going back to the boat a bit early which was fine with me because I was tired of walking around all day. For the rest of the day we just explored more of the boat , while walking we bumped into the captain . He asked some basic questions like “how was our day” or “if we were enjoying our stay on the ship” the encounter lasted all of 2 min. The guy was kind of boring so we ended the conversation pretty quickly. Since there was only 2 days left on the cruise we started getting our things together so we could leave without any trouble. since it was our last day on the cruise we didn’t get to do much except for have a quick breakfast. After breakfast we went back 1o our room and got our things and prepared to get off the ship after getting off the ship I realized that I had a great time and that most people don’t get the chance to go on a cruise their entire lives let alone at the age of nine. So even though I took some things for granted in the end I realized how privileged I was to have the experience. But the real question, is do you realize how privileged you are ?
